Like "Thom's Gospel," I've taken the approach of changing names in the text with the intention of distancing that knee-jerk preconceived characterization of Jesus, Mary Magdalene (thus "Maggie's Gospel), and a few of the disciples mentioned in the text. Here, they'll go by nicknames. I also use the same conceptual terms that are shared in "Thom's" What's here is the actual rendering taken from a larger piece, a book which combines the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Mary, The Teacher, The Twin, & The Tower.
Sadly, the most complete manuscript we have found so far is still missing those first six pages at the front and another four in the middle, but it doesn't discount the beauty of that which remains. The themes and setting of Mary's Gospel are such a wonderful fit to the end of Thomas' Gospel, which ends with Jesus defending Mary before Peter and the rest of the disciples. This is coincidentally where Mary's starts. The tone is more metaphysical than Thomas, but where Thomas begins with "these are the deeper things," Mary doesn't stop. She even shares her direct experience with the Divine to the others, who she deeply cares for (although somewhat unrequited).

...The students asked, “Can you explain something about the material world? Does it last forever?”
“Everything that is manifest as physical – that is, what is natural, elemental, ‘made’ so to say of matter – exists in a way that is entangled with everything else,” the Teacher replied. “It’s all connected in Reality, and its materiality will be dissolved back into Source eventually. Do you remember when I taught you that ‘everything comes from Source and everything returns to it?’ It’s important that you try to understand this.”
The (one called the) Boulder asked, “Since you’re already explaining all this, can I add a question? What does it mean when people talk about ‘the sin of the world?’ Is it the material world that’s bad or what?”
The Teacher said, “First, you must realize that sin is just a concept, not a Real thing. When one chooses to behave like materiality is reality, separated from the Divine, and engages with this belief, that is how sin is manifested. And this is why Awareness reveals itself as the True Self, which in turn draws and reconstitutes the essence of everything back into Source.”
“But, if one is tricked into giving their attention to mere materiality, setting their affection on things, they become sick and lifeless. If you get what I’m saying, hold on to it.”
“It’s the attachments one has with things in this material world that causes suffering. Why? Because everything that is perceived as being only physical goes against the True Nature of Reality. It throws one’s body out of balance and disturbs their Natural harmony. But wholeness is restored when one finds contentment as it manifests in all forms – no matter how seemingly different. This is the True Self and Awareness of Presence. So hear me out.”
The Teacher then gave all of the students a final embrace. “It’s time for me to leave your company, but I am always with you and you with me – So attend to one another patiently and peacefully, as I have with you.”
“Remember what I taught you. Be wary of those who try to say, ‘You have to go this way’ or ‘it’s up or out there.’ Remember that you are the Living Manifestation of the Living Source, we are truly Human and Divine. Remember that what you have searched deeply for will be revealed. And to get out there and share this! So many are still searching!”
“But when you do this, don’t add anything to what you’ve been taught. When you make up all these extra rules, it traps you like religious dogma does, and it’s not about doctrine. Okay?” Shortly after this, the Teacher left.
The students were flooded with emotions – sadness, anger, confusion. “We’re ‘what’ again? From ‘something-or-another’ of the ‘live source,’ and what else? How are we supposed to share all this? And who again did he want us to tell it to? And if there were people who didn't like hearing what he said, they’re going to hate us, probably even try to hurt us! How is this even a good thing at all!”
Although the student who was nicknamed the Tower was deeply grieving too, she stood up, hugging and comforting the other students. “I know how hard this is, but we can’t get stuck in this sorrow. We can’t start having all these doubts. The Teacher has given us such grace and remains united with us in our hearts. The Teacher will continue to guide, to comfort, to teach us from this place. We can be thankful that we have each other and are honestly prepared to do this kind of work. This is what becoming fully Human and recognizing our True Self is all about, right?”
After saying this, the other students turned their attention inward as the Tower reminded them, and began to sort out what the Teacher meant by all the things shared with them.
Then the Boulder asked the Tower, “Everyone knows the Teacher had a thing for you. Can you tell us everything that you learned straight from him? I’m sure there were lots of things the Teacher explained better to you than us.”
“I can try. Like the Teacher told us all along, ‘what seems hidden from our perception will then be revealed’.”
“As far as anything else I can share that might help, I can tell you about a Dream I had, where I felt the Teacher’s Presence instructing me. It’s funny. I remember it began with me even saying, 'Teacher, I can see you right here in my dream.”
“You’re so lucky this doesn’t freak you out,” the Teacher said. “It’s wonderful you can realize that the Awareness rises up here in the heart-mind, where Humanity and Divinity intertwine.”
“How is it,” I asked, “that all this happens? How can I see here? Is it with my soul? My spirit?”
“It’s not either really. At least not on their own. It’s what rises up in-between, like the Stillpoint…”
The Tower continued to share all the things from the Dream and how she understood it.

“...Then a figure called The Craving stood and spoke up, “Although I didn’t really notice you sneaking in, here you are trying to make a stand, thinking that you’ve tricked me. Don’t you know? You’re under my spell! I control you!”
“Afraid not,” said the True Self, “You’ve never seen me and know nothing about me, but I know you. All you’ve done is tricked yourself, mistaking my clothing for me.”
Having said this, the True Self walked right on by, with joy in their pocket and a smile on their face.
The True Self approached the third level. There stood a large figure they called The Ignorance, who drew in closely, scrutinizing and beginning to interrogate them.
“Exactly where do you think you’re going?” Ignorance laughed before scowling. “You have no rights, no permission. You're nothing but a prisoner to your addictions, without even a clue what to do, let alone what’s right or wrong. You’re worthless!”
“You – like many – have done nothing but criticize me, though I don’t judge anyone,” said the True Self, “I’ve been dominated over, but haven’t even pushed for my own agency. Although I’m not given acknowledgment, I completely recognize this: everything comes from Source and returns to Source. Heaven and Earth, as they say, will pass away; it’s impermanent and will be released in every form.”
The True Self continued to the fourth level, where the council called Vengeful Anger resided. The group was made of seven figures. The Obscuring, The Craving, and The Ignorance were there, alongside The Deadly Forgetting, The Physical Addiction, The Wisdom of Fools, and The Volatile Violence.
“We have you now. So, murderer, where is it you think you come from? And where were you planning to go? You’re homeless, a vagrant, there’s no where you belong, and no one who will ever claim you.”
True Self responded, “What has had control over me, what was an oppression, has been killed. I devoured it and cannot die.”
“Now I’m free from the false pattern, by virtue of the Pattern of the Whole. No longer am I bound by forgetfulness and temporality, but move freely in Reality. I am finally – after being filled with wonder – able to sit with what I’ve found in this Stillness.”
When she had finished sharing, the Tower settled into the Silence. After all, it was from Silence that the Teacher shared with her.
The student called the Manly One, brother of the Boulder, reacted by turning to the other students and asking, “So what do all of you think of what she’s claiming here? I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe the Teacher would say such wildly unorthodox things, so different from everything we grew up knowing was right.”
The Boulder also chimed in, “That’s a great point! There’s no way that the Teacher shared anything with a woman but not in front of everyone, especially us. That makes no sense. I wouldn’t think he’d expect us to turn around, abandon tradition, and just start following her. And no way would he pick a woman to be the boss of us!”
The Tower was heartbroken, crying, “Boulder? What are you thinking? Do you really believe I would need to make anything up? Why would I lie about the Teacher we all loved and who loved us?”
The student called the Unifying One spoke up, “What are you doing, Boulder? You’re always so hasty and hot-tempered. How could you possibly think the right thing to do is to attack a woman – a sister no less and close friend at that – like she’s some kind of villainous enemy. It’s absurd! We all know the Teacher held the Tower in the highest regard. Exactly who do you think you are to despise and reject her? The Teacher knew her well and trusted her dearly.
“Shame on all of us, we should be embarrassed by our behaviors. So let’s make things right and enter into our Full Humanity, too, living like the Teacher is connected with us still, doing all he taught us.”
When the Unifying One finished, everyone dispersed and began sharing what they learned from the Teacher.
